Albayaan Muslim School was established on 2010 as a result of Tanzania Islamic Propagation Assembly held on 2009 at Nungwi North Rural Village of Zanzibar initially known as TARBIYATUL-ATWFAAL NURSERY SCHOOL The school begun with one hundred and eighteen (118) pupils, eleven (11) teachers using two classes in borrowed premise located at Main Nungwi village. In 2013, the school owned its permanent area offered by community member and went on under the first head teacher, known as PATIMA MUSSA KHAMIS and officially named ALBAYAAN MUSLIM SCHOOL in 2014, with around 184 pupils, where by educational level was nursery only
The fast and good operational performance makes many parents to enroll their children at Albayaan. This led to open new continuing primary level in 2015. The school took by Mr. AME M. SHARIFF on behalf of head teacher up to late in 2018.
It’s now consisting of two hundred eighty-eight pupils (288), one hundred twenty-two (122) female and one hundred and sixty-six (166) male. The number of teachers is twenty-five (25), twenty female and five male. Three cooks, nine classes, two teachers’ offices, toilets, kitchen, dining room and mosque. This center is a fully day school which provides environmental and basic Islamic knowledge to the pupils of both, nursery and primary level under the head teacher known as MATI HAJI MATI who took from 2019 up to date.
The school is non-profit community innovation centre where by the meal, transport and First Aid services are from the annual parents’ contributions. It’s clientele from Nungwi itself and neighbor village such as KENDWA, KIGUNDA, KIDOTI, BWEREU and FUKUCHANI.
It run and operated by community itself, supervised by school committee and led under the current head teacher collaborated with the rest of teachers and other committee members such as _ Treasurer
